Directions for making a bed
Assemble Bed Frame.
- Cut 2 side rails, 6’ long, 2x6 wood
- Cut 2 38” long rails, 2x6 to be used as the
head and foot boards
- Lay out the bed, putting the short pieces on the
outside, the 6’ pieces on the inside.
- Use 4 angle irons to attach the pieces. Use
the angle irons to mark the holes on the wood where
you will drill.
- Drill the holes to accommodate the angle irons
- Use ¼” carriage 2 inch-long bolts with
lock washers and nuts to attach the angle irons to
the bed frame pieces. From the outside of the
frame, use a hammer to push the bolts through the
wood frame and angle iron. On the inside of the
frame, add on a washer and screw on nut using a
ratchet wrench to tighten frame together. You
now have a frame.

into one end of each of the four 2x4’s.
File down the rough edges
of the holes

of the handle brace by placing it centered against
the caster board

the holes for the fasteners

bed frame. Use a hammer to push the bolt
through the drill holes.

the inside of the frame.

that can be slid through the holes
in the handle braces.
- Screw the dowels into place in the handle braces
with 1 1/2'” sheet rock screws.
