Top Boston Comedians Headline Comedy Night - Queen City Rotary Club Comedy Bowl to Benefit Youth Organizations
23 January, 2010

MANCHESTER, N.H. (January 12) – Las Vegas, Atlantic City, Comedy Central and now Manchester - three top comedians will have a local audience rolling in the aisles with laughter at the Queen City Rotary Club’s third annual Comedy Bowl on January 30. A benefit event to support the work of local youth organizations, the pre-Super Bowl tailgating party begins at 7 p.m. at the St. George Greek Orthodox Cathedral Auditorium at 650 Hanover Street.

The evening features Kenny Rogerson, Jim Colliton and Graig Murphy, three Boston-based comedians who have entertained audiences at big name clubs and made appearances on well-known late night talk shows.

Kenny Rogerson, known for his brilliant wit and understated sarcasm, has appeared on David Letterman, Conan O’Brien and Comedy Central, and as Kevin the Biker Fireman on the FX hit show “Rescue Me” and as Pat the Cop on ABC’s “It’s All Relative.” In addition to performing at clubs in Las Vegas and Atlantic City, he has made film appearances in “Fever Pitch” and “There’s Something About Mary.”

Jim Colliton is a regular performer on cruise ships and at the Tropicana in Las Vegas and Atlantic City. He is a master at turning real-life situations into hilarious stories and making audiences feel like they are part of the performance. He has been seen nationally on Ed McMahon’s “Next Big Star” and Comcast’s “Comedy Spot Light.”

Graig Murphy shot to fame with his hilarious impersonations of Red Sox Manager Terry Francona, Patriots owner Robert Kraft and others on Sports Radio WEEI. His standup routine has him quickly climbing the comedy ladder.

Comedy Bowl tickets are $25 and may be purchased at the door. Tables for six may be reserved in advance for an additional $25. The event includes hearty tailgating fare, table snacks, cash bar, silent auction, half-time live auction and raffle, including a grand prize 50-bottle wine refrigerator donated by Glenn’s Appliance and More. For more information, contact Donna Wilchek at 305.1826 or visit www.queencityrotary.org.

Some of the 20-plus youth organizations supported by the event include Big Brothers Big Sisters of Manchester, Boys and Girls Club of Manchester, CASA, Daniel Webster Council of Boy Scouts of America, Girls Inc., Girl Scouts of Swift Water Council, Greater Manchester Family YMCA, Make-A-Wish Foundation, and Salvation Army Kids Café.
